1. Desktop Application Data Handling (100% Local Execution)

Shirube YouTube Transcript Tool executes locally on your Windows computer. The application does not contain any hidden telemetry, background crash uploaders, or remote analytics agents:

• Extracted Transcripts & Metadata: Stored strictly on your local disk inside your chosen Output Folder (channel_cache.db, videos.csv, transcripts.csv, errors.csv, and transcripts/*.txt).
• User Preferences & Optional API Keys: Stored locally in %APPDATA%\ShirubeYTTranscript\config.json on your computer.
• Cookies & Proxies: If you configure a cookies.txt file or browser cookie option, those cookies are used strictly by your local Python process to communicate directly with youtube.com and are never transmitted to Shirube servers.
• Sanitized Diagnostic Logs: Clicking Save Diagnostic Log writes a local text file on your computer with OS usernames, API keys, cookies, and proxy credentials redacted. Diagnostic logs are never transmitted externally unless you manually attach them to a support email.

2. Website Analytics (yt.shirube.fyi)

On this website (yt.shirube.fyi / shirube.fyi/yt/), we use Google Analytics 4 (G-YWN4D4RDE4) to measure aggregate traffic, page views, download button clicks (yt_app_download), and documentation navigation so we can improve guides and installation instructions. You may block analytics cookies at any time using your browser settings or an ad/tracker blocker.
